New Venture Resources (NVR)

New Venture Resources, LLC (“NVR”) is an investment and venture management firm with a 40 year track record in venture capital investing and entrepreneurship, primarily in technology-based businesses.  NVR was founded by Dr. Richard Petritz in the 1970’s to continue the success of a model of innovation investments first developed at Texas Instruments and then proven at Petritz’s first  institutional venture capital firm, New Business Resources of Dallas, Texas.  Petritz and partner Jeff Cooper managed NVR’s operations together for a decade in the 1990’s before Cooper became Managing Director.

Jeff Cooper has decades of experience in the management of entrepreneurial firms and the development of the State of Colorado’s entrepreneurship ecosystem: As a Co-Founder and Director of the Colorado Springs Technology Incubator, Co-Founder and Selection Committee Co-Chair of High Altitude Investors Angel Group, and Co-Founder of the Colorado Capital Alliance, Inc. (“CCA”). As a private investor Jeff has been responsible for all aspects of venture capital investments including due diligence, deal structuring and board governance and as  venture manager has held the position of Controller and senior Finance Executive in venture-backed, middle market companies including Simtek, PROFITsystems, as Executive Director of The Petritz Foundation, and most recently as CEO for Plyo Systems, LLC, a medical device and rehabilitation equipment maker. Jeff Holds BA and MBA (Finance) degrees from the University of Colorado.
