1. Guests confirm participation and they will be at the party

Usually, Americans hold weddings on a small and moderate scale with close family members, friends and colleagues. The guests always candidly confirm whether they can attend the wedding or not so that the couple can arrange seating and food to welcome the guests. Therefore,if you are invited to an American wedding, whether you can attend or not, you should confirm with the couple sincerely. Although it’s a pity that you can’t attend with them, it’s a shame if you confirm you’re coming but you’re absent that day.

2. You should not wear a white dress when attending a wedding party

In the US, white dresses at weddings are supposed to be for the bride. Therefore, guests will often not wear this color because they want to give all the prominence to the main character of the party. Usually, the bride and the groom will inform the guests about the dress code in the invitation letter so that the guests can prepare well and not feel awkward when they dress completely different from everyone else.

3. What should you offer the bride and the groom?

There are many religions and cultures in the United States, so the gifts for the bride and the groom on their wedding day are also very diverse. This will depend on the traditions of the bride’s family. There are places where guests will offer cash, but there are also places where gifts are more common. Currently, there is a very popular service in the US called Wedding Registry. It is a service provided by a website or retail store to assist engaged couples in communicating the gift they wish to receive to their wedding guests. The couple will select their favorite items in the store and the list of those items will be provided and updated for the guests. Therefore, guests do not need to spend time and effort guessing what the couple likes, but just need to choose a gift that is suitable for their abilities and will not be duplicated with others.
